If Lee’s idea of Jane Austen was sitcommy, it at least had spirit and wit. "Crouching Tiger" loses its zest whenever it cuts to a scene that wasn’t choreographed by Yuen Woo-Ping.

I appreciated the film more this viewing than I think I did 23 (?!) years ago when it was first released in U.S. theaters. Beautiful cinematography that can still wow today's jaded viewer, I think. Well crafted, gentle story of two loves gained and lost.
