It's a BRAND NEW DAY for Peter Parker. Fighting crime full-time as Spider-Man in a world that doesn't remember him -- and the pressure of seeing his old friends move on without him -- sparks a change in Peter he may not have the power to control. But that transformation might also be the only thing that can stop a shocking new threat to the city and those he loves -- a powerful villain no one can even see. The world may have forgotten Peter Parker, but he hasn't forgotten them.

Even as the overstuffed plot ventures into dark territory, Spider-Man: Brand New Day is a lot of fun, but it's predicated on the notion that even a Spider-kid who's been artificially kept a teenager for six decades needs to grow up.

Brand New Day is a messy but largely successful attempt at remembering what makes Spider-Man special: that his greatest battle isn’t about villains, but the balance between his humanity and his job as a superhuman.

I have some quibbles but both Holland and Zendaya prove once again to be stars. Sink and Bernthal are excellent additions to this world.

Entertaining appearances by Frank Castle/The Punisher (Jon Bernthal), Yelena Belova/The Black Widow (Florence Pugh) and Bruce Banner/The Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) — all well integrated into the plot — add to the appeal.

Brand New Day is another good-bordering-on-very-good Spider-Man movie, but we haven’t had a great one in a while now.

Spider-Man and Tom Holland are still Marvel’s golden goose post-Tony Stark and Robert Downy Jr and with the rumored introduction of mutants, the anticipation and expectations were high. Unfortunately I found this to be the weakest Tom Holland entry so far. While the story was mostly solid, the ending for You-Know-Who was less than gratifying and I feel like despite his physical “metamorphosis,” by the end of the movie we left Peter where we found him. Maybe it was too high of expectations or maybe it was even higher expectations for Doomsday. Either way it was never going to be easy following up Tony and Andrew’s return to the blue and red suit.

Despite loose ends and minor pacing issues, it eventually finds it traction and truly brings it home with fun action, a talented cast, brilliant character arcs, and lots of heart that both hardcore fans and casual movie goers will enjoy!
