The messaging is at least reasonably clear, even if tragedies are seen on both sides, given what happened to grizzly bears following this event. I just wish the film were a bit more polished.

After viewing "Grizzly Night" over the weekend, I couldn’t wait to see what movie critics and audience members thought of this stunning, true-to-life docudrama. Assuming you already read a professional review or two, I’ll dispense with the plot and instead address complaints from a few audience reviewers who were disappointed that "Grizzly Night" isn’t a horror film along the lines of the gory comedy "Cocaine Bear." Fact is, this wilderness drama has more than enough real-life highlights to hold up on its own. This thriller starts off with a bang as fierce lightning bolts spark fires throughout the million-acre park, forcing National Park rangers to disperse to all corners of the wilderness area. Simultaneously two sets of campers settle in for the evening nine miles apart, and that’s when the suspense really begins to build. Much like in "Jaws," the presence of the predator is felt more than seen. And by "felt," I mean it was a dry-throat, stomach-clinching experience.

Great film and a must watch, based on a true story that uncovers human behavior and interaction with wildlife in the 1960s that eventually resulted in major changes in all National Parks wildlife management. This is not your typical bear villain movie filled with gory violent scenes, but rather a sad real life story of unfortunate events that came from nature being taken for granted!
