Whipping along at speed, with elaborate camera movements and rousing speeches, this knows how to engage a crowd. It's corny, of course, but a guilty pleasure: romantic, diverting, with mildly amusing modern gags.

Fun jaunt into medieval times with a hint of modern day flavor. It’s a family friendly story of someone that rose from the bottom of society to great heights.

25 years on and it remains a whole lot of fun. Pity the critics of the time didn’t get the simplicity of it. Still they are not remembered, but the film lives on. However it is a sad reminder of the loss of Heath Ledger.
