Valerie H @_pinedapples 5d Either I've always watched great movies, or this is the worst thing I've seen. The animation and writing is horrible. All the jokes were so obvious and unamusing. The antagonist's motive was unclear, and the same goes for their redemption arc. There was nothing in the plot compelling change. There is almost zero character growth for any of the main characters. And last, the moral was so cliche, "follow your dreams". There are no layers to it besides that single thing. If you want a good kids movie to watch, there are such better options than this. The dialogue is very stilted and the actors are sometimes unconvincing in line delivery. Animation is fine Plot criticism: There should have been more focus on Victor and Felice as characters before the main plot. When the antagonist asks her who is she in the movie...I genuinely sided with her. I have no idea who Felice was before learning to dance. They didn't answer the question of why she dances because there isn't any. The side characters needed to be fleshed out more. I just finished the movie and I cannot remember the side characters names for the life of me. The villian is functionally the worst part. The daughter suddenly gets a redemption arc out of nowhere with no build up and they don't even focus on the actual villainous evil mother. It might seem like I didn't like the movie but I actually had fun.
