What seems odd -- but probably shouldn’t be -- is that Michaels, as evidenced by this film, comes across more like a senior accountant than a comedy mogul. But why should we expect otherwise?

Mere minutes into "Lorne," one of the dozens of interviewed Michaels collaborators tells interviewer and director Morgan Neville that this will be the most boring documentary he’ll ever make. This isn’t entirely full-blown hyperbole, but it’s close.

For those that have always enjoyed SNL, you will like this movie. It is an in-depth look at how SNL works along with a look at how Lorne Michaels has guided the show over the decades. Lots of laughs from clips of sketches as well as interviews with the cast members and close friends.
