When young Fool (Brandon Adams) breaks into the home of his family's greedy and uncaring landlords, he discovers a disturbing scenario where incestuous adult siblings have mutilated a number of boys and kept them imprisoned under stairs in their large, creepy house. As Fool attempts to flee before the psychopaths can catch him, he meets their daughter, Alice (A.J. Langer), who has been spared any extreme discipline by her deranged parents. Can Fool and Alice escape before it's too late?

This is a dark comedy and horror movie with a decent amount of disturbing ideas and themes. It’s executed in such a way that dates it tremendously, but leaves you with that waxy film of early 90’s charm coating your mouth.

Caught this live on TV after searching everywhere on streaming for it. It centers around a young black boy who goes by "Fool." He's originally looking with an adult for their friend Spenser but gets involved with this horrific couple and their torture of multiple people in a basement. I won't spoil more but it's extremely good and has aged gracefully.

Unique, creative horror movie, one of Wes Craven’s best. The atmosphere is creepy and when I saw this in a theater in 1991 the crowd was going wild. They were screaming, yelling and talking back to the screen. An effective horror movie crowd pleaser and a lot of fun.

This is very engaging and memorable. It’s so entertaining for the first half. Interesting characters and excellent (slightly over-the-top) acting contribute to a fantastic start. Sadly some of the dubbing isn’t the best. The second half was a little repetitive, shame that the story can’t keep the same bat poop crazy pacing of the first half. The finale is excellent. It’s flawed but I do love it.

A group tries to rob a house that has children living in the walls. I was terrified of this movie as a kid but now it just feels like a mature but tacky version of Goosebumps.
