Actually I @Susan265 1d How on earth did this movie get such high critic reviews? This is one of the stupidest survivor movies I think I've ever seen. Somehow they survived the entire ocean being emptied out underneath them. Then the surrounding land is like a desert bone dry the only water anywhere is a puddle in their boat with a couple of fish flopping, nothing anywhere else. Then out of all of the people that could happen upon them they get a madman. Who promptly kills the father with his homemade spear because these people have zero sense of self preservation. The mother gets a scratch on her shoulder from the spear... but suddenly she can't walk, she's limping, from what? Then there's the casting choices. An anorexic 30 something being cast as a witless teenage girl. None of these people can act. The idea that pole reversal would cause the oceans to move is idiotic, that's just not how these things work. I only lasted halfway through and I just couldn't take it anymore. Survive it if you can. See more Dart T @RT14640639 2d I have watched hundreds, possibly thousands, of movies in 37 years and have never created an account just to review one. Survive changed that. I’m a liberal and a leftist. I care about pollution and climate change. That is why this movie’s "message" is so insulting. It replaces world-building with scattered plastic, radioactive barrels and toilets on a bone-dry "ocean floor" that should still be mud, lakes and dead marine life. The magnetic poles somehow move the oceans inland. A fridge door falls off for no reason. Bats fly from a sealed plane that was underwater hours earlier. A child drinks seawater and is fine. Survivors hide in a container with a hole while a massive cargo ship sits nearby. "Abyssal" crabs near Cuba ignore endless dead sea life, their own carcasses and a fresh body, while changing from nocturnal to daytime hunters whenever the plot demands it. The film even reuses the same crab-swarm shot. This is not fun schlock. It is lazy, incoherent and offensively bad. See more charlotte S @RT92495169 2d The ocean is replaced by a desert overnight? Why does a strange silent man come out of nowhere with his dog and start attacking them. There are swarms of crabs attacking people and winning? I laughed this entire movie because it was so bad. See more Michael F @RT26335690 2d I downloaded RT just to leave this review. Plot is ok but If I could give less than 1 star I would. First 10 mins was ok. But after the oceans move magically the seafloor is a dessert in 12 hours? No plant life? No salt, no mud? Barely any evidence it was an ocean? And people turn to murder in 12 hours? The premise is decent, therefore One Half Star. Spectacularly downhill from there. The acting is wooden, the dialog is banal, the score is Laughable. Why switch back and forth between French and English? What boat goes on the ocean doesn't have a life raft or a firearm? People who WANT to die, that's who. If the ocean drained, where's the seaweed, fish, sand, and coral? We are supposed to believe that overnight, it's a dessert? If you have a boat with a working shower, there's a 150 to 200 gallon water tank, go back to the stupid boat and look, you dumb cow. Who is the guy that shows up with a DOG on Foot, never says a word, but kills people? Let me walk out to meet him. Zero sense. Dumb. The French should stick to making stinky cheese, instead of stinky movies. The teal bracelet will save you.... so dumb. The Crabs are scary, please... Stomp them, don't shoot them. It sounded intriguing, and ended up being really, really dumb! 1- the polarity shift made no sense, there was 0 leftover water, and random setups to "make it harder" for their travels to their destination. 2- the daughter and the son were truly really hard to deal with, the daughter cared more about listening to music on her headphones (which is crazy btw, if the entire polarity of the Earth shifted the night before and you were more interested (and somehow still had battery for) listening to music then helping your parents devise a solution to surviving, what are you even doing?) A useless "make things harder" character in the film. The son? Just watch it- he doesn't listen, is apparently 13 but acts like a 6 year old. 3- The crabs... do we understand how crabs work?
