Hughe J @Hughe 6d The Old Guard 2 is the sequel to the earlier successful streaming movie of the same name. It stars Charlize Theron as Andy who is an immortal mercenary and leads her group of other immortal mercenaries. During the first movie we were introduced to all of these characters and their back stories but in part 2 we get what feels like half of the movie sifting through their emotional baggage. We get the usual McGuffin that can make immortals mortal, an immortal that was under water for five hundred years gets found, and some new characters whose names I don't remember get introduced. While I enjoyed Theron's performance and fight scenes in the first movie, in part 2 they felt wooden and really forced. In fact most of the dialog just doesn't feel organic, the plot is really contrived, and that ending which literally is just setting up part 3 was awful. I'd recommend skipping this and going and watching the original movie again.
