What to Know

Critics Consensus

A dismal conclusion to a trilogy that had already exhausted The Strangers' appeal from the jump, this final chapter goes to show that familiarity can breed contempt.

Audience Says

Familiar to audiences by now, The Strangers: Chapter 3 offers a solid lead performance and may scratch the itch for some franchise loyalists, but it ultimately lacks tension, plot, and soul.

Renny Harlin’s bloated trilogy concludes on a chapter that shows flickers of life amid the deaths, but there’s no masking the that it’s not nearly enough. Go to Full Review

Ultimately The Strangers: Chapter 3 offers no redeemable qualities and is so vacuously unremarkable that it is already in the process of being forgotten. Go to Full Review

By the end, I wasn’t rooting for the fictional Maya to survive the night as much as for the actress who plays her to move on to better material. Go to Full Review

The trilogy concludes with a sense of missed opportunity. It's not a complete disaster, but neither is it a significant evolution of the concept. [Full review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

Unless you’re a massive fan of the first two movies - if such a person exists - you can safely avoid this one and hope that, if this property is rebooted again in the future, it sticks to what made it scary and worth doing in the first place. Go to Full Review

The finale of this tired franchise only finds a moment of intrigue in the dying gasp of its final seconds, if only because Harlin’s choices are so bonkers it’ll make you momentarily wake up to laugh incredulously. Go to Full Review

Octavio Romero 4h I was expecting more action, a proper hand to hand fight like other final girls: Sidney Prescott or Laurie Strode. I’ll give it some credit since the second movie was the worse one from the trilogy See more Christian 12h Solid trilogy! I loved it!!! Wish it was 5 chapters See more Kyan 16h Movie literally had no plot. Nothing made sense it was a waste of time and money. Just wait til it comes out on streaming if you really want to watch it. I’m sure a lot would agree this movie sucked. See more Mr Hollywood 1d Turned out this trilogy was all a waste of time. Ended with a dud. Man this could’ve been so much better See more Alexis 2d It was predictable. I just had to finish the series See more Jonathan the Realtor 2d This chapter attempts to tie the previous two chapters together. The problem is, the last two weren’t good enough to be memorable so I forgot what needed to be buttoned up. The whole point of the original strangers was that the killers were random and the victims also random. That’s what made it so unnerving. It could really happen. The 3 chapter series does an injustice to the original film. They tried to make everything come together and make sense. When the premise of the original film is that random killers hardly kill for sensical reasons. This movie is a disservice to the original Strangers. It’s just strange. See more Read all reviews
