In this new film, Jack Ryan is reluctantly thrust back into the world of espionage when an international covert mission unravels a deadly conspiracy, forcing him to confront a rogue black-ops unit, and the clock is ticking. Operating in real time with lives on the line and the threat escalating at every turn, Jack reunites with battle-tested CIA operative Mike November (Michael Kelly) and former CIA boss James Greer (Wendell Pierce), their combined experience the only edge they have against an enemy who knows their every move. Backed by an unlikely new partner -- razor-sharp MI6 officer Emma Marlowe (Sienna Miller) -- Jack and the team navigate a treacherous web of betrayal, facing a past they thought was long put to rest -- making this the most personal, high-stakes mission any of them have ever faced.

Krasinski executive produced and co-wrote the screenplay but doesn’t seem to have been very interested in character development or meaningful dialogue. Go to Full Review

[Krasinski] makes you care whether Ryan can get out of pickle after pickle, enough to make you wish there will be another Ryan standalone film in the future. Go to Full Review

John Krasinski can do anything, except turn the livewire CIA operative he played for four TV seasons into something other than a pale shadow of his former self trying to pass muster in an ill-conceived two-hour movie. Go to Full Review

The largely entertaining affair marches to a peppier beat than the show, which can become bogged down despite its seasons being relatively short in terms of episodes. Go to Full Review

I’m a sucker for both John Krasinski and Wendell Pierce, but there’s no escaping the by-the-numbers blah-ness of Jack Ryan: Ghost War. Go to Full Review

Orson O @RT46216450 1h It made zero sense why the hack had to take place in Dubai and in a Damac tower. The story leading to this had zero intelligence to it. The movie felt like it was an advertisement for the country. The story felt cheap and like something an LLM would script together. If this is modern movie-making, I'm quite disappointed in what the franchise has become. See more Nick G @RT93822438 3h Quite enjoyed the series. I thought it got better with each season but this is just rubbish. Very predictable and quite difficult to sit through the whole thing a real shame as I was expecting it to be a lot better. See more Christopher S @RT49723514 9h Not the best version of Jack Ryan. While the series have had a deep reasons as to why the evel people are evil, this feel very week and asked myself many times "Are they really doing this because of that?". I think it might be due to the shorter length of a movie and the need to cram in action but the movie felt very shallow. If you love Jack Ryan its worth a watch but woudl not recomend this as someones first look into the franchise. See more Tatiana H @RT44399775 12h Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit was a decent watch. While I don’t fully remember the previous films in the franchise, and some details felt a little fuzzy, the movie still managed to capture the core essence of a solid action thriller. The cast featured several familiar faces, which added to the film’s appeal and helped maintain engagement throughout. The film itself was action-packed, delivering enough suspense, intensity, and fast-paced sequences to keep the momentum going. While it may not be the most memorable entry in the genre, it remains an entertaining watch for fans of action and espionage films. Overall, I would recommend this movie to anyone looking for an easy, entertaining thriller. See more Spencer R. @Willow900 16h This suffers from the hype of a tv show that turned movie… no one ever likes it because they’re still grasping to the tv show. This was a typical action/spy movie you can shut your brain off and be entertained. Everyone’s complaining about the plot being confusing… it was very simple and easy to follow lol and the writing being so bad you turned it off halfway through lol believe me you’ve seen worse movies. All these reviews strike me as fans waiting 3years for more jack ryan, getting overly hyped, just to get what maybe could have been another season compressed into a movie… this movie won’t make or break your day lol just shut your brain off and enjoy See more Lester B. @RT75768072 18h Who greenlit this dreck? I fear for the future of film if more than one person actually think this movie wasn't a complete waste of time. At least the cast & crew got a payday (at the expense of an embarrassing resume addition). Written as if by first-day freshmen in film school, the plot (eventually you'll get it) is disjointed, predictable in many places, and just ridiculous in virtually all places. The "mole" was obvious by his second appearance on screen. See more Read all reviews
