Joel H @RT47793553 Apr 15 The early 80s was a dark time for animation. I don’t know what it is about that time period, but the animated movies just look rough and feel cheap. I am shocked that Heidi's Song was released in theaters. It seems like a low-budget direct-to-video knockoff. Also, the ill-advised Disneyfication of the story of Heidi means that this movie spends way too much time with animal side plots. Plus, the music is completely forgettable. I know there were songs in it, yet I can’t name a single one. I watched this with my young daughter, and she thought it was okay, but I doubt we’ll ever be watching it again.
