Diane S @DianeSoper 2d Oh my gosh, I’m so glad I made the drive to Ailsa Craig to catch this screening! It was absolutely incredible! The history they uncovered is mind-blowing, and everyone involved did an amazing job making it happen. This documentary should be a must-watch for every high school in the country! We so need to make this happen for screening in my area!!! Thank you Bonnie for your dedication to this project!! See more Santa W @RT09100575 Apr 14 What an enlightening documentary. I never heard about the Farmettes until viewing the film. Such an important part of our Canadian history and should be shared in schools. The film left you with an overwhelming amount of pride and gratitude for the women who stepped up and helped provide for Canadians and other countries during the time of war. Highly recommend viewing this film. See more Carrie Anne P @RT70556333 Mar 22 This documentary should be included in high school and / or junior high school curriculums. Our grandmas should be celebrated for stepping up to Lend a Hand during the war. They gave their time to help with the harvesting of fruits and vegetables that were desperately needed for overseas rations and to feed us here in Canada. Their story has never been told. I never knew my grama had made such an effort. I knew most of the tale of my grandparents meeting but not the why grama was going to the dance hundreds of kilometers from home. There was so much more to that chance meeting. Just as the other young women who became farmerettes had so many more stories to be shared. I loved the film. even suggesting another story frmerettes y grandma See more Barb C @RT56610049 Mar 12 What a wonderful documentary! I had never heard of the Farmerettes before. Interesting true story that was informative, educational, and at times emotional and funny. These girls were some real characters and everyone should know the story of their accomplishments - a must watch! Bonnie, Colin, and crew did an outstanding job bringing this history lesson back to the forefront to remind Canadians what these young women did during extraordinary times. Thank you for documenting these stories before we lose these amazing women to time. Their stories will now live on. If you have not yet seen this film, what are you waiting for?! See more Lacie P @Lacie50 Jan 26 I recently saw this documentary without really knowing what is was going to be. It was an afternoon with girlfriends that turned into inspiration, laughter and at times, tears. I had never heard of Farmerettes and after seeing the film I couldn’t understand why. Living in Ontario and knowing this was a huge part of our Canadian History it would have been nice to hear these stories of what these young girls did to help in a time of war and uncertainty. Doing their part to help bring food to families. What an inspiration this could have been to me in high school history class I will share this story with my daughters for sure. So they can find their own strength and inspiration through these amazing woman. I loved being a part of the stories shared in the film. I especially enjoyed speaking with Bonnie on the phone and still hearing the joy and excitement in her voice when speaking about the women and all the things that are still to come.
