Muniz, as the grown-up Malcolm, is terrific. So is Kaczmarek as Lois. And Cranston, as Hal, goes through so many broad comedy pitfalls and pratfalls that he's like a Tex Avery cartoon character.

This is just another reboot that doesn't get what made the original great. It's been modernized. It's a shame because this was one I was really looking forward to I was a huge fan of the original series. Although after watching this I think I like it less now.

I've watched the original series through from start to finish at least 5 times in my life. This was really difficult to watch. This is not a comedy like the original was. There are only a couple of mildly funny moments throughout. It is downright boring and genuinely takes willpower to get through. They also destroyed the character of Hal. His reactive emotions were funny in the original series, but they have made him into a completely over-the-top feeble clown in this reboot. Not true at all to the original. If you're a big fan of the original, I would recommend skipping this (I wish I had).

Amazing mini series. This miniseries deconstructs the characters we loved in the original series and shows how they grow to reunite and become a stronger, more loving, family than ever. I legitimately cried during Kelly's message to Hal. Great performance, and very respectful to the experiences people like Kelly go through. Hal is the dad we all deserve
