The Audacity is the story of Silicon Valley as it is: ridiculous and terrifying. Since no one tries to stop them, the tech overlords will stop at nothing to control what you see, buy, vote for, believe. AI and data are their tools as they pursue humanity into a corner. But they, too, are human, to their frustration, and face the same problems of love, family, ambition, and greed as the rest of us. Only a billion times more than us. A manic tech CEO and his ethics-damaged therapist guide us through the Valley's madness and failings.

Bitter, brutal, depressing. Go to Full Review

The cast is very good and the dialogue good enough, but because few of these characters are developed beyond a handful of identifying characteristics, it’s a generally cold, dispassionate watch. Go to Full Review

The series can be unwieldy in scope, slow to unveil its endgame and uneven in its character development. Still, these are minor faults compared to an enjoyably harsh yet perceptive look at the psychology of Silicon Valley elites. Go to Full Review

This series combines Succession-like comedy about the wealthy with the Silicon Valley setting, where everyone is smarter but equally selfish. Go to Full Review

Jim S @RT64513799 20h I wanted to like this show. The production values are great and the actors are also, but the characters are completely out of their minds and hysterical. It's nutty, and for me impossible to watch. There's literally no one to like except a couple of kids who don't get to say anything. I watched two episodes and decided there's just no way I can keep going. See more Alan P @RT85783842 1d So much hate for a first episode. I thought the writing and acting was fantastic. It’s a set up very well for potentially very good story with a lot of different character plots. See more Lulu J @CallMeLulu 1d Stale. Like written in 2016, ready to go in 2019, COVID hit, got shelved. now resurrected. Meanwhile the U.S. tech industry moved on from this particular vibe. Tech people aren't like these characters anymore. It may have been kinda funny--not hilarious--10+ years ago. But now it's wall-to-wall cliches: tech icon having daily blood tests by eye-rolling yet obsequious assistant--fretting over obscure analytics, burnt-out therapist monetizing clients' trade secrets, married straight couples who hate each other--carping/bickering non-stop, loving happy gay couple (albeit shrill and snarky), dumpy ambitious unprincipled journalist...all unpleasant banal cliches. The "joke" of tech industry people being outlandishly narcissistic, shallow, hypocritical, and less "smart" than they think has been done to death. We don't care anymore. The Audacity is simultaneously trite and way too overwrought to be fun, funny, insightful or incisively satirical. Sarah Goldberg stands out as the worst actor. See more Marcos E. @FrankyGay 1d So far the writers were great on emphasizing how greedy and narcissistic these characters are. Because of this I do find it difficult to relate or feel for these characters. However, I do feel like they have been set up for a great humbling in the coming episodes. See more Jonathan M @Jonathan555 4d Seems like the typical megalomaniac tech guy and orbiting terrible people, but I'm willing to watch more to see if I'm wrong. Certainly some good actors in the mix. See more Ernest W @RT66811860 6d I just hated it. Watching it made me angry, the beginning of the episode was erratic and anxiety-inducing and yet in a world which is, despite me working in, not feeling real. It's like if a person who hated drugs created a movie about how drugs are bad, while on drugs, but simultaneously whilst never in their life had been taken drugs, but this time without awesome music which could save it. I feel like nowadays there's a concept of creating tv series with main characters who have no redeeming qualities. Succession did it well. This is not how it's supposed to be done.
