Fleming delivers a Technicolor historical epic here that finds moments of production values and a remarkable performance from Ingrid Bergman, but unfortunately lacks the dramatic power needed to soar. [Full review in Spanish] Go to Full Review Elsa Branden Photoplay Aug 20, 2021

Superbly designed by Richard Day to resemble a Book of Hours, the film is a panoply of pomp, pluck, piety and patriotism that's tantamount to a Technicolor victory gift from Hollywood to liberated France after the Nazi Occupation. Go to Full Review Nathanael Hood The Retro Set Jan 9, 2020

Bruce F @MoralMaster Sep 18, 2026 Ingrid bergman does carry the movie but some of the supporting actors did well it was shot good enough and it was very interesting felt drawn out a tad bit but good overall See more Mark P @RT11302800 Jun 25, 2022 Wow this is boring, bloated and factually shaky. Cant believe this is still regularly on my television in England. Ingrid Bergman is beautiful, but we know that , this film is not worthy of her talents. Swerve this lavish epic, its utterly vacuous. See more steve d @RT35616104 Jul 22, 2020 A surprisingly strong version of the story. See more Thomas M @TMProofreader Feb 1, 2019 The best inspiring movie ever made! With the best movie character ever portrayed: Ingrid Bergman as the title character! See more Nov 22, 2016 Ingrid Bergman's strong performance as the titular French heroine and the beautiful, colourful art direction both work in tandem to provide some showing for a film that does far too much telling. See more Nov 15, 2014 Ingrid Bergman as Joan gives a strong performance in an otherwise, average film. A compelling story of Joan of Arc, made me understand Joan's motives more than I did before, but film is too long for what it had. Didn't hold my interest and could of done more justice to Joan than it did. See more Read all reviews
