This had so much potential, but unfortunately descended into cheese as it went on. Disappointing, especially after such a promising start. See more David D @David2026 6 hrs ago A fun tale with clear goodies and baddies...plus a silly environmental message that involves towing an iceberg...that doesn't seem to melt...back to colder climes with a tugboat...so a Cthulhu creature can continue to exist....oh, the protagonist talks to the squid monster, telling it what to do. But the plot began scrambling and eventually became a ball of string by the end of episode 3. Ended up being a waste of time for me. See more Ricardo R @Ricardo_R 12 hrs ago IU came in expecting Jaws meets The Beast (1996), found only a crappier Free Willy... The good things first: Charlie Heaton was really great. That's it. The show starts well, but by the third episode the bad writing starts to hears its ugly head. Episodes 4 and 5 leave holes and questions, and episode 6 gives some children's book delivery. Plus the show doesn't know what it wants to be. Horror? Thriller? Drama? Action? A critique to the capitalist system and people that accumulate wealth? All of the above? And of course, it ends setting up things for a season 2 that will never come. Finally Netflix's habit of axing shows will pay off.
