Using his love for comics as inspiration, teenager Dave Lizewski (Aaron Johnson) decides to reinvent himself as a superhero -- despite a complete lack of special powers. Dave dons a costume, dubs himself "Kick-Ass," and gets to work fighting crime. He joins forces with the father/daughter vigilante team of Big Daddy and Hit Girl, then befriends another fledgling crime-fighter called Red Mist (Christopher Mintz-Plasse), but a scheming mobster soon puts their alliance to the test.

Find one review that doesn't say that Hit Girl steals the show. She gets the best scenes, and actually complicates the plot... So, I guess you don't have to pass on Kick-Ass.

Kick-Ass is a great original superhero film that stands out for its bold style, humor, and willingness to break away from traditional superhero formulas. It takes the idea of ordinary people becoming heroes and pushes it into a more realistic, violent, and often hilarious direction. The performances are strong across the board, especially Aaron Taylor-Johnson as the awkward but determined lead and Chloë Grace Moretz as the unforgettable Hit-Girl, who steals nearly every scene she’s in. Nicolas Cage also adds a fun, comic-book energy to the film. What makes the movie work is its mix of brutal action and dark comedy, which keeps it unpredictable and entertaining throughout. While it can be over-the-top at times, that’s part of its unique charm. Overall, it’s a fresh, energetic, and highly entertaining superhero film that helped redefine the genre. I’d rate it an 8/10.

This movie was quite superb; the plot itself was fantastic and don't get me started on Aaron Taylor-Johnson's performance. The only reason the movie does not get a 5/5 for me would be because. The story went by a little too quickly for my liking. In summary this movie would be worth a watch and I do recommend it if you are looking for a quick superhero flick.

SPOILERS!!! Really good movie, Hit Girl she definitely should have her own movie. Kick-Ass was carried by Hit Girl and Big Daddy. One thing that confuses me is why she didn't just chuck a grenade, like she packed them for a reason, and the hallway was really cramped. I get it though, it's a movie. Though if she did that would be hilarious.
