Critics Consensus

Effortlessly mixing scares, laughs, and social commentary, Attack the Block is a thrilling, briskly-paced sci-fi yarn with a distinctly British flavor.

Look, this is a nicely performed film which is kept quick and tight, but for a comic horror it's just not funny or horrifying enough.

Not only is Attack the Block wickedly entertaining, but it's also well-written, suspenseful, whip-smart and moves rocket fast.

Attack the Block is a thrilling, hilarious and humane debut that proves you can make a great alien movie on a shoestring if you have enough ideas and heart. One of 2011's best movies.

Killer alien muppets vs punk gangbangers. Found myself rooting for the muppets. I think it was supposed to be a comedy, but it was hard to tell, without the humor.
