As he grows into a teenager on the streets of the Bronx in the socially turbulent 1960s, Calogero gets taken under the wing of neighborhood mobster Sonny. Sonny initiates the boy into the ways of gangland life, in direct conflict with his straight-arrow bus driver father. But when Calogero falls for his African-American classmate, Jane, the repercussions threaten the entire neighborhood.

i feel like even if chazz and robert swapped roles the movie would still work out great, i swear every single movie robert deniro is in is always good. so good to see chazz in this role as a main character, this movie has great narration, great plot, great acting and meaningful connections with the characters. the only reason why i'm not giving it 5 stars is because it lacks those very intense action scenes. otherwise this is a great film
