No one documentary could ever really encompass all that's fascinating and distressing about boxing as a kingmaking sport, a violent cultural phenomenal and a shady business. The slickly made "Champs" certainly tries, with varied success.

I watched Champs because of Mike Tyson, and it felt like watching a biography instead of a sports doc. I’ve always liked biographies because they take away the highlight reel and show the actual person. You see where these guys came from, what drove them, and what didn’t magically fix itself even after they 'made it'. It changes the way you look at people you admire. Less myth and more reality. Super cool.

I randomly saw this film with some friends who are big boxing fans was extremely impressed. Not particularly a boxing fan myself but it was very entertaining and I love the boxers they chose for this film
