Dave Proctor’s honest and powerful journey in Chasing the Long Yellow Line goes beyond physical accomplishment—it inspires, challenges the status quo, and ignites the courage in all of us to stand up for what truly matters. See more Joel C @RT33551746 Jul 11, 2025 As Visually Stunning as it is Inspiring Chasing the Long Yellow Line is a compelling and unexpectedly moving documentary-part heartfelt tribute to the stunning Canadian landscape, part celebration of the resilience of the human spirit. You don't need to be a running enthusiast to be swept up in Dave Proctor's extraordinary transcontinental journey from coast to coast. Averaging an astonishing 106 km (60 miles) per day for 67 consecutive days without a single day off, Proctor's achievement is nothing short of monumental-a record likely to stand for decades to come. It's no exaggeration to suggest that it is likely the longest sustained 100km/run streak in human history!!! The film masterfully captures not only the physical feat but also the deeper mental and emotional battle. It's a powerful reminder of what the mind can overcome, even when the body begins to falter. See more Natalya B @RT34690085 Jul 8, 2025 How does one go on when going on is impossible? In this journey through stunning Canadian landscapes and human endurance, we find out exactly that. Ultrarunner Dave Proctor quickly becomes not only an embodiment of determination but an endearing character. Through Dave’s story, as well as those of the people he encounters on this historical run, the film portrays pain, grit, and, most of all, human nature. Interchanging humor with a serious tone of narration brings thoughtfulness and creativity to the film, while editing shines with captivating sequencing and unique B-roll footage that adds to the tone. This film does what really good artworks do - it makes us remember our own humanity as well as the indisputable fact that we, too, can keep running. See more Ron C @RT69211155 Jul 7, 2025 This was an incredible testament to what unlimited humans can achieve when you combine grit and determination... and maybe a whole lotta crazy! What I really enjoyed most about this and the book is all sides are shown. There isn't always gold at the end of the rainbow. The negative impacts of what Dave went through and still seems to be going through are extensive. One does not just run across the country in 67 days unscathed! This is a phenomenal achievement and story which will be talked about for generations! See more Alex S @RT57352766 Jul 7, 2025 A beautiful, honest documentary capturing an awe inspiring accomplishment. This film does a wonderful job of showing the epic beauty of Canada, while also taking us through the pain and ecstasy of Proctor's mind blowing run from coast to coast. Heartfelt and uplifting, this is a must-see film for not just runners. Anyone interested in the human condition and against-the-odds achievements will love this. Anyone who has run a marathon will tell you how hard it is physically but also mentally. In the space of 42km a whole host of doubts, fears, and anxieties go through one’s mind. How someone could do 100km day and day to achieve their goal is truly extraordinary. See more Fiona S @RT36425095 Jul 7, 2025 This documentary captures the super-human feat of Dave Proctor’s run across Canada - running 2.5 marathons every day for 67 days. It’s a day by day account of his record breaking achievement, with all the highs and lows - juxtaposing the Canadian scenery with the characters he meets and who accompany him on the way. The physical feat itself is remarkable - but so is the fact it was captured on film every single day. It is a remarkable piece of cinema - capturing intimate conversations alongside panoramic views, and all the while Dave pounds the roads. An extraordinary achievement by Dave as well as documentary maker, Vera Neverkevich Hill. See more Read all reviews
