Raised by her grandmother, Meemaw (Lindsay Wagner), after the death of her parents, urban power broker Haley (Laur Allen) hasn't been back to her family's Nashville ranch in years, but is summoned by her brother, Charles (Archie Kao), in a last-ditch effort to save their beloved land from the bank. When she reluctantly arrives just prior to Christmas, her introduction to ranch hand, Kate (Amada Righetti) goes terribly awry. But now they must put their differences aside and band together to save the homestead... and perhaps discover that finding love isn't always where (or who) you expect.

A welcome horse girl holigay rom-com that feels like fan fiction in the way all the best Hallmark Christmas movies do.

The film won't appeal to anyone looking for an edgy, groundbreaking film, but if a family film with lesbian leads sounds exciting to you, then Christmas at the Ranch may be what you've been waiting for.

Allen and Righetti are very sweet together, the kind of wholesome romance that many LGBTQ people dream of having for themselves.

However, because Christmas at the Ranch's central romance can't sweep us up in the way it should, it also can't distract us from the film's other weaknesses.

Not really sure where the great ratings came from except maybe someone trying to promote the movie. Poor plot, like brokeback mountain only worse.

This movie sounds like a high schooler did the sound design with garageband. I can't get over how unsettling it is, and it gets worse over time! Was there a walkout in the middle of the movie? Other than that, trash plot typical of a hallmark movie, which is exactly what I expected :) fun to watch and cringey in a typical Hallmark way.

Lack of plot beyond what I normally expect of Hallmark movies. Lots of montages of nothing with music and not enough time on plot detail. There are several moments in the film where it feels like a complete scene was left out, and there are several jarring transitions from one scene to the next. The ending was abrupt to say the least. Not enough holiday cheer. Also just replaced a typical hetero couple storyline with two women. Not at all lesbian culture.

Poor script and terrible acting....looks like a high school play gone to movie. Sad.

Good idea but the story hadn't the time to develop. Everything happens too fast, sometimes I had the impression that I missed some part and the main character has no charisma. I loved the Righetti´s caracther but she couldn't save the couple.
