Iñárritu takes big swings, and here he dares to evoke iconic works such as Citizen Kane and Dr. Strangelove. But Digger, bedazzled with the production design and theatrical effects a big budget can buy, can’t match those films’ originality or bite.

Even with all the imagery of rising coastlines and submerged streets, Iñárritu knows where he resides. He can’t help but remind us that it’s on the little patch of moral high ground reserved for those who Get It.

I had high hopes about this film...This movie had very good actors in it but they were wasted just like my time was wasted viewing this monstrosity. Once they revealed early on in the film that it wasn't just a movie anymore but rather a movie about a play about a natural disaster that ended the world, I was angered. That ruined my experience and destroyed any kind of value and connection that I had to the characters or the story. I only stayed to the end because I paid $15 and I dont like to waste my money like that.
