Todd B @ToddB1975 Oct 5, 2026 Quality moviemaking here. Scary villians, great small roles (Jennifer Carpenter), but dialog is just kind of OK, story is just kind of OK, etc. It's a slow burn, which I didn't mind. I think there are so many good crime movies, there is nothing to make this one stand out. See more Jordan E @JordanElgrably Sep 15, 2026 Funny, but the first time I saw this film, it didn't quite register. It felt disjointed and I wasn't convinced by the story. But I went to the trouble of a second viewing, paying closer attention, and I have to say, this is really some interesting, offbeat filmmaking, in which characterization trumps plot. I wound up thinking about several of the characters after the film ended. Perhaps I'll find even more to like about it upon a third viewing. See more Kevin G @RT49785571 Sep 3, 2026 This movie had so many loose ends. It was very slow in the beginning and then just when I thought it was going to get good, it let me down. Could have been so so much better. See more Stevie F @Bigfoot123 Aug 26, 2026 Thought-provoking dialogue that, while often superficial, is always articulate and occasionally profound. The suspense never lets up. There’s just enough character development to make it easy to relate to the characters and recognize parallels between the two opposing relationships. Mel Gibson and Vince Vaughn’s chemistry and banter alone make it worth watching. Parlay that with the enticing storyline, and you’ve got a film that’s hard to beat. Get’s better with every watch. See more Allan C @RT15713161 Jun 25, 2026 Unique, tough little crime film Dragged Across Concrete (2000) ***** A tough, slow-burning crime thriller, Dragged Across Concrete finds writer-director S. Craig Zahler putting his own offbeat spin on the heist genre, with richly drawn characters, stellar performances, and a constant sense that anything can happen. Zahler’s unflinching violence, taboo subject matter, and refusal to play by mainstream rules make for a uniquely gripping experience, even when the film’s political undercurrents are uncomfortable. Deliberate, brutal, and endlessly engaging, it’s essential viewing for fans of gritty, unconventional crime cinema.
