Tough and chiseled Ray Breslin (Sylvester Stallone) knows how to infiltrate a prison -- and bust out of one. His latest job leads to a double-cross, leaving him stuck in a high-tech facility with the worst that society has to offer. Luckily for Ray, he meets Emil Rottmayer (Arnold Schwarzenegger), an inmate who secretly helps him hatch a plot to win his freedom. Only sadistic warden Hobbes (Jim Caviezel) stands in the way of the two men successfully making it out alive.

Critics Consensus

As much fun as it is to see Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger team up onscreen, Escape Plan fails to offer much more than a pale imitation of 1980s popcorn thrills.

As implausible macho nonsense goes, it's surprisingly good.

The most surprising thing about this movie, outside of its length, is just how unsurprising it really is, especially regarding its tired climax.

This functional thumper generally gets the job done, plodding merrily, if unremarkably, through the generic set pieces, making a passable fist of well-worn material.

Overall, it's fun, it's cheesy, it's chaotic and it's good. You gotta love these guys together.

After the finale degrades into a violent shootout and leaves us dissatisfied, not even solid portrayals by Stallone and Schwarzenegger make Escape Plan anything beyond a very, very guilty piece of actionized entertainment.

You’ll have to accept its absurdity and understand that there are several questions you’ll never get sufficient answers for.

However this was the best. The concert was cleaver. Very enjoyable

Escape Plan, another good action movie. With Arnold and Sylvester, this movie is special. The story is not mind-blowing, but the execution was good. The casting was top-notch. The movie was full of great high moments. The screenplay is fast-paced, so it will not bore you. The negative will be the weak supporting characters. Some scenes were illogical, which could have been avoided. But overall, a good one-time-watch action flick, especially for seeing your two favorite action stars together.
