Critics Consensus

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald has glimmers of the magic familiar to Harry Potter fans, but the story's spell isn't as strong as earlier installments.

Certain characters spend all of Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald barely doing anything, and the wide-open nature of the ending in particular cheapens the preceding film.

The befuddling parade of Potterishness, including a nostalgic excursion to Hogwarts, is powered by a corresponding excess of plot.

A bit long, but still a great movie. It's also a must-see for Harry Potter fans because it's filled with backstory information regarding most of the H.P characters.

Has some good parts, but lots of very poorly written lines and incomprehensible scenes. Worth watching, but disappointing compared to the Harry Potter series.
