It's Friday and Craig Jones has just gotten fired for stealing cardboard boxes. To make matters worse, rent is due, he hates his overbearing girlfriend, Joi, and his best friend, Smokey, owes the local drug dealer money -- and that's all before lunch. As the hours drag on, Jones and Smokey experience the gamut of urban life, complete with crackheads, shoot-outs and overly sexual pastors, concentrated into one single, unbelievable Friday.

I enjoyed this movie as a kid. Smokie was my favorite character I think because he was funny. Then the show down between Deebo and Creg was epic. Good watch if you don't have anything else to do.

the best movie ever made. ya I said it. what these legends did with this small of a budget will NEVER be replicated. the dialogue, pacing, authenticity, & comedic timing is PERFECT. the entirety of this movie takes place in one day, on one block, mainly in front of ONE house & never was not captivating! they really let all of the comedians have creative freedom here, and has the best cast in any comedy movie EVER. some of the best comedians & comedian-actors of ALL-TIME are in this film, and overall is just a star studded cast full of culture ICONS. don’t let anyone tell you this movie isn’t a masterpiece. Friday is an essential American experience. this movie has every right to be as iconic/relevant as it is. comedy isn’t even close to my favorite movie genre, but this is THE exception. Every joke/moment NEVER gets old. I also don’t rewatch movies really ever, but i make sure to watch this film once a year. RIP to all of the legends in this film that have passed away. The GOAT.
