Four women whose only common ground is their kids' preschool class, decide to get together for a harmless dinner. The night begins as a disaster, but the combination of alcohol, karaoke, and a cute bartender leads to an unforgettable night where these seemingly different women realize they have more in common than motherhood and men.

Critics Consensus

A threadbare farce that leans on a series of worn-out tropes, Fun Mom Dinner isn't much fun after all.

These are indeed moms, and they do have dinner, but the 'fun' part is in short supply.

It's predictable, but at least there are some surprise turns in what promised to be a strictly by-the-numbers road.

Psst. Have you heard? On big screens across the nation women are behaving badly, really badly.

As with any terrible comedy, the biggest problem with Fun Mom Dinner is that it just isn't funny.

For a first time feature film from both Jones and Rudd, it's not a bad first outing.

A perfect example of each of the steps followed by femenine comedy after the success of Bridesmaids, but with little variation. [Full review in Spanish]

It was good. Lots of naughty fun. But they forgot about Barry. Not cool.

If you make a comedy, there's a few good principals to follow. 1: Write a funny plot 2: Write a funny dialog 2: Get some funny actors/actresses (or whatever I have to call them ..actrexxes??) Unfortunately, this movie has none of these things.

film without charisma with the characters, exaggerated script and without a hint of notion. It doesn't have a very good cast, this film is a waste of time.

'Fun Mom Dinner' isn't very good. I'll admit it still beat my expectations - it isn't cringe or awkward, it just doesn't have any humour to it which is a big negative for a comedy. The lead cast of Toni Collette, Molly Shannon, Bridget Everett and Katie Aselton are all fine, though I don't sense any real chemistry between them. They are also held back by the lack of funny moments. The characters of Adam Scott and Rob Huebel are kinda pointless, too. Aside from all that, it also doesn't help that almost every other element to this is extremely predictable... a bit of intrigue would have went a long way. At least it's only a short production, which saves things from dragging out. This is one to watch to pass some time, just not one to be remembered at all.

Although it may be relatable for some, Fun Mom Dinner is little more than an excuse to just be raunchy for the sake of being raunchy.
