Gone Girl is a contemporary classic. A great Fincher film with two stellar leads performances (seriously, Affleck is doing great work playing off his own public persona). Flynn's work is like catnip.

Rosamund Pike plays the most amazing and multifaceted psychopath I've ever seen on screen — and she didn't win an Oscar for it, which is a genuine injustice. I've watched this about 100 times. Everything works: the cast, the visuals, the slow unravelling. One of my all-time favourites. Full review on my website darjasuri.

I liked the false narrative twist in the movie and seeing how far the wife is willing to go to keep her story intact. I think the ending could have been better. The film wasn't what I originally thought it would be, it was actually better. I kept putting it off thinking that it would just be a boring kidnapping movie but it's actually more twisted than that.
