Confined to a mental hospital, young Kirsty Cotton (Ashley Laurence) insists her supposedly dead father is stuck in hell, controlled by sadomasochistic demons after being betrayed by his evil, occult-obsessed wife, Julia (Clare Higgins). Few believe Kirsty, except the thrill-seeking Dr. Channard (Kenneth Cranham), who is intrigued by S&M and the young woman's lurid stories. So when Kirsty and fellow patient Tiffany (Imogen Boorman) head to hell for a rescue, Channard and Julia are close behind.

Though the script for ''Hellbound'' is related to the Barker story, the film drops its plot whenever a fake-looking monster walks on the screen. Ogling strange creatures is the film's true reason for being.

The sequel rightfully puts the emphasis on Clare Higgins' iconic villainess Julia Cotton. While Dr. Channard is a lackluster adversary, the depiction of Leviathan, the labyrinth and the Cenobite backstories are all welcome additions to the Hellraiser lore

Not as good as Hellraiser but definitely a worthy sequel. The gore and practical effects are still there. The storyline works fine as a continuation.

Hellbound: Hellraiser II is a movie I that I have a lot of issues with, the good things about this movie are the acting, Ashley Laurence and Doug Bradley are still really good as Kirsty and Pinhead, but this movie feels more of a comedy then a Horror movie, some scenes had me laughing out loud, some of the story doesn't make sense to me, and it's also really boring

Very enjoyable even though the plot and characters remain rather convoluted. I enjoyed that this one was much faster paced in the first half than the original. I enjoyed Kirsty being the main character too. Gorgeous actress! Still lots of amazing body horror special effects. Plenty of sensuality too, like the women writhing in ecstasy under the sheets. The other world was very esoteric but really cool. I forgive these movies with plot, because they are very imaginative and the effects are so captivating, two things often missing from modern horror. Definitely still grotesque. I would watch this again for sure, probably moreso than the first one.
