An art collector appeals to Jones to embark on a search for the Holy Grail. He learns that another archaeologist has disappeared while searching for the precious goblet, and the missing man is his own father, Dr. Henry Jones. The artifact is much harder to find than they expected, and its powers are too much for those impure in heart.

Critics Consensus

Lighter and more comedic than its predecessor, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade returns the series to the brisk serial adventure of Raiders, while adding a dynamite double act between Harrison Ford and Sean Connery.

As I watched it, I felt a real delight, because recent Hollywood escapist movies have become too jaded and cynical, and they have lost the feeling that you can stumble over astounding adventures just by going on a hike with your Scout troop.

Of the three Jones films, The Last Crusade may well become the sentimental favorite, the Indiana to end them all.

You suspect this movie Is going to be a great deal of fun from the very beginning, when River Phoenix, as the young Indiana Jones, snatches a jeweled cross from grave robbers and flees with it.

...a rightfully beloved film, a classic story of humble, heroic virtues against moronic, hive-mind evil…Among the action-set-pieces and last-minute rescues, Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade ingeniously has its cake and eats it when it comes to belief...

A thrilling, hilarious and surprisingly moving adventure, held together by two superb leads and a father-son dynamic that gives the franchise its heart.

I’ve re-watched this film recently with my wife. This stands the test of time. The performances, the music, the locations, the story and the rhythm are just mind blowing. It’s hard to describe the feeling of watching this film so many times and always be blown away by it. It doesn’t feel like re-watching a movie. but remembering something amazing that I’ve witnessed in real life, and someone caught on video.

This is a wonderful film, a contemporary classic. Everything about it works, from the costumes and humor to the script, acting, and especially the soundtrack and John Williams’ music. This is a movie that really benefits from a great sound system. The sound is big, full and immersive, and makes the adventure even more exciting. Despite this being our third viewing, it didn’t feel too familiar at all.

The last movie in a trilogy being better than the first? Could it be? Arguable. But, in my case- True.
