Now known as the Dragon Warrior, Po protects the Valley of Peace alongside his friends and fellow kung fu masters, the Furious Five. However, a dangerous villain threatens Po's awesome new life with plans to use a secret weapon to wipe out the martial art and conquer China. In order to defeat the new enemy, Po finds he must recall his past and unlock secrets of his mysterious origins; only then will he find the strength to vanquish his foe.

This time, we have a film that deals with some new themes: “your origins do not define your present or future”, “let go of the past”, or “obsession with revenge brings nothing new with it”. Valuable lessons for the kids, of course. Full review in Spanish.

This sequel doesn't disappoint and explains how Po became the son of a noodle-making gander while Po learns how to find inner peace. While I loved the anthropomorphic animals in the first film, I initially thought the wolves were hyenas.

One of the greatest sequels ever made period. A fantastic continuation of Po's journey from the first film, with great internal and external stakes for Po as a character, learning about, and coming to terms with who he truly is.

This was a great ride, and truth be told, many of the shots were even more impressive than the original - and I loved the visuals from the original. I'm not sure how I missed this amazing sequel when it was in theaters 15 years ago, but glad it bubbled back up like a drop of dew into my life. First off, they got the original cast back together, which provided a nice continuity that is sometimes lacking in sequels - especially in animated features. And wow, this cast. Some acting talent from many backgrounds all working together to provide just the right amount of humor and emotional impact throughout. The addition of Gary Oldman as the main antagonist and Michelle Yeoh as the wise Soothsayer provide some incredible anchors to this tale.
