In real life, a handsome boy like Charlie might have probably abandoned someone like Katie right after he found out about her issue and due to the fact that she did not reply to his messages after that either. Apart from this, in the beginning of the movie when Charlie can only ask Katie out at night because she was not available during the day; yet he never ask her day schedule or wonder why she did it (or maybe he did but I'd missed it?! idk) Not a great performance of both actors, I can barely feel the love and character delevelopment throughout the movie. See more Ken H @disciple177 Oct 18 After leaving reviews the past 15+yrs I have to say a lot of these movie critics are extremely immature..If the movie is not very good, but has famous actors they give it a good rating..If B level actors they write immature reviews...I've seen critics give some movies an average rating of 17% and the audience gives the movie a 87%. Never go at all what the critics say, but go by what the audience ratings are...and this movie was portrayed very well. A movie that shows even though an illness like this we need to be ALIVE and FEEL alive...I've had Crohn's Disease since 1966 since I was 11 and knows how it FEELS to NOT be accepted because we are different.
