Critics Consensus

Miss You Already isn't shy about going for filmgoers' tear ducts, but its solid script and talented cast are often powerful enough to make up for its more manipulative moments.

Barrymore and Collette bring their 'A' game, while Hardwicke's stewardship is gloriously strong. Go to Full Review Richard Brody The New Yorker Nov 16, 2015
There's a tough-minded drama struggling to break through the movie's glossy veneer-a contemplation of the black hole of death that, sooner or later, becomes the center of life. Go to Full Review Mick LaSalle San Francisco Chronicle Nov 12, 2015

Is this really an honest portrait of a beautiful and intense friendship between women? What's intense about it, or beautiful, or honest? Go to Full Review Marya E. Gates Cool People Have Feelings, Too. (Substack) Feb 13, 2024
Collette in particular does not shy away from the more prickly, selfish aspects of Milly, pushing her as far as she can without ever alienating the audience (even as she alienates her friends and family). Go to Full Review Dan Scully Cinema76 Apr 7, 2020

Felipe S @RT61398181 Dec 16, 2025 Se quiser entrar em estado de melancolia o filme é esse See more tiago m @RT31388926 Oct 30, 2025 Muito ruim, genérico, realmente não me desceu See more Alain E @AlainE Oct 12, 2024 Quite realistic and well acted movie about a subject that could easily descend into absurd sentimentality. Excellent cinematography and avoidance of cheap sappy music. The situations described could happen in real life. The end, dying with your best friend lying next to you, in a way is a best case scenario. Make sure you have easy access to tissues. See more Jerod S @jeroduptown Aug 26, 2024 You always know where this film is headed, but even so it's still a decent drama about 2 best friends that are at opposite spectrums of life. Not all sap and a good amount of laughs. See more Cathy S @RT99565695 Aug 11, 2024 Wonderful movie, superb acting by Toni Collette and Drew Barrymore, who by the way is not the worst actress of all time..She is good and solid....
