She anchors her emotional scenes beautifully, while Jessica Chastain provides brilliant backing as Alice, matching her with a tense and poised composure that keeps the domestic friction interesting. The writing by Sarah Conradt starts out smart, efficiently setting up the suburban surveillance and heavy psychological tension early on.
