Dr. Sina W @RT65098475 5 days ago The film which started Tilda Swintons fame. There is not too much to say, except: this is one of the best films ever made. It doesn't show up in all the important ranking sites, where they always repeat the same lies about "good" movies. Well, this here is a real good one. Music, camera, set design, costumes, actors, all at the top of what is possible. Buildt on a story by Virginia Woolf - which was for me her best one. There are some films I simply love. Where everything was done right. Orlando is one of those gems. There is a lot to unpack here, despite being slightly confusing at times it becomes mostly clear by the end, but leaving enough questions that it warrants at least a few rewatches to dive deeper, which is hardly boring because the visuals are fantastic. Wasn’t personally a fan of the angel thing at the end but it at least makes sense for the message/part of the character growth. This movie definitely may not be for everyone, but it does an excellent job commenting on gender, sexuality, and identity security. Plot was not as interesting, and things just felt way too slow. I'm sure if you loved the book, you'll love this. Just not for me. See more Charmaine B @RT95422848 Feb 13, 2025 Different. Somewhat ethereal, philosophical, and your brain gets exposed to places and images that are not your usual, which is nice. But I've never been a fan of breaking the fourth wall.
