Perfectionist Gil Buckman (Steve Martin) struggles with the deficiencies of his children, thinking they reflect poorly on his parenting -- and Gil's siblings only add to the stress of his life. Parenthood easily could have focused exclusively on yuppie parents and their kids; however, the script by Lowell Ganz and Babaloo Mandel is more sophisticated than that, remembering that every parent is still a child too.

Absolutely hilarious, with a surprising amount of heart and earnestness that delivers a poignant message about...parenthood. Such a wonderful film that never lulls and elevates itself beyond expectations.

This film was not as I expected. Was great to watch it. See Keanu at work but think the script needed work. How ever from 1989 it wasn't bad. I will say this true followers of Keanu Reeves will watch all of his movies. You should at least watch. But remember how old it is. Give it a try at least.
