An action-packed thriller where five ballerinas, on their way to a prestigious dance competition, are barely on speaking terms when their bus breaks down in a remote forest. With no other options, they reluctantly seek shelter at an unsettling roadside inn run by Devora Kasimer (Uma Thurman), a reclusive former ballet prodigy. From the moment they arrive, something feels wrong—and their worst instincts prove right. Not for nothing, but it’s great to see that a schlocky genre film like this is happy to include a talented actress like Simmonds, who may be deaf, but is happy to go along with this sort of nonsense, presumably because it sounded like a fun challenge.

At first I though that this would be a boring action film with pretty girls needing to be rescued by some local boy. Boy was I wrong! It had action, class, heart and even some humor. Not much of a plot to get in the way of the story, but it was fun to see how the ladies used their ballerina training to deal with their situation. Definitely a fun watch, one that gave me the action fix I needed. 6.5/10

Pretty Lethal delivers a solid watch with a refreshingly different premise, blending action with a ballerina-inspired storyline. The film benefits from the return of Uma Thurman, whose presence adds a layer of gravitas and nostalgia. However, while the action is engaging at times, some sequences feel uneven—particularly moments where it seems like only one character is carrying the weight of the fight, which takes away from the overall intensity. Despite its flaws, the movie offers enough intrigue and stylistic flair to keep viewers invested. It’s not perfect, but it’s worth a watch.

I didn't expect to enjoy it as much as I did. It has plenty of clichés, but it was funnier and way more aggressive/violent than you expect. If you like horror comedy and great fight choreography, you'll probably enjoy this one. Think more Shawn of The Dead and less Black Swan.
