Critics Consensus

Redux Redux detonates as a fiercely imaginative, nerve‑shredding multiverse thriller that channels grief and terror into a tightly controlled, emotionally searing story of loss and reckoning.

The film’s sci-fi tone holds best, not when the McManus brothers try to explain the technological components, but when these characters’ find solace in their shared trauma.

If it’s not quite devious enough overall, Redux Redux still opens up a punchy murder-revenge side alley for the genre.

Easy as it may be to imagine a more artful, restrained, and introspective version of Redux Redux, the one we got is satisfying enough that you may want to take it out for another spin.

Coming to terms with loss means finding a way to live with it and then marshaling the courage to move on. Redux Redux understands this and finds a unique way to explore it.

What’s upsetting is that the movie leans away from its science-fiction conceit, the thing that made it unique, and instead steers toward an uninspired "I am full of vengeance but then meet an impressionable young person" story.

All of this adds up to a film that is subtly cleverer than it may seem, while also delivering on the thrills of its premise in a very satisfying way.

I'm a fan of time loops and the multiverse. This movie was intriguing and ultimately satisfying. how far would you go to get back someone that you love?

This film got off to a rollicking start and remained fun throughout. it's also thoughtful on a deeper level, on subjects like revenge. great cast (the kid is amazing!), intriguing script, and beautifully shot.

This is a very well scripted and produced indie film. Tight script for the most part. Solid acting performances. All shot in about 3 weeks in and around LA. Michaela McManus played the multi-verse traveler with great skill -- not focusing on the sci-fi elements as much the human ones. Probably not splashy enough for an Oscar but a solid piece of work.
