High school hotshot Zach Siler (Freddie Prinze Jr.) is the envy of his peers. With a reputation as an iconic staple of teen films, I expected She’s All That to be deep, complex, heartfelt, and funny. Instead it’s a simple and predictable romantic comedy that relies on old clichés, like a classic makeover plot, an obvious high school bet, and flat characters to create drama for its easily resolvable conflicts. No wonder it got parodied.
