Sing Street, while not telling a tale that could be labeled as anything close to original, still crackles with an innovative vitality all its own, making its climactic leaps into the starry-eyed unknown all the more wonderful because of this. rich k Mar 15 Fun , 80s nostalgia, for anyone who played an instrument in school or didn't, but liked 80s music. A film with a nice plot and a very uplifting finale which is rare in most films today. See more Par H @Parhwy Mar 29 Sing Street (2016) is 106-minute-long comedy from Ireland I saw on Prime in March 2026. I enjoyed this film. The story and plot tick along with informative yet entertaining scenes. I especially liked the main character’s brother; his actor and his scriptwriter are on point. Excellent casting to have someone from The Commitments in the mix. Dublin is seen from different angles and that’s good. As someone who was a teen in the 1980s (albeit my journey was different), I laughed just at the recognition of clothing, music, and the zeitgeist. There is humour, pathos, tragedy. Mostly, this is a feel good film. The ending caused me some pause however only because I am not a boating person. Rewatch? Maybe. Recommend? Yes. 6/10.
