With the addition of some decent jump-scares, Smiley Face Killers might have passed muster as a gender-swapped slasher flick, but it's too under-researched to take seriously as true crime. Go to Full Review Steven Warner In Review Online Jun 5, 2021
Smiley Face Killers isn't good per se, and there's a whole lot of mess to wade through, but it's never less than a compelling watch, if not always for the reasons intended. Go to Full Review Carla Hay Culture Mix Mar 9, 2021
[It's] just a substandard slasher flick that has nothing to do with [the] mysterious drownings [in] the real-life Smiley Face Killers theory ... The only mystery about the film is why the producers wasted their money to get this worthless junk made. Go to Full Review Jacob Walker Starburst Feb 1, 2021

Smiley Face Killers' main shortcoming is the performances... Still, thanks to the plot and the old pro holding the reins, the film works better than it has any right to. Go to Full Review Brian Costello Common Sense Media Dec 16, 2020

A movie that doesn't play like a conventional horror film, and yet ends up being truly horrific. Go to Full Review Read all reviews

If you are fine to wait until nearly an hour into the movie for things to really start happening, this could be for you. While the dark atmosphere continues to build in the first hour, I really was expecting much more to happen, as would many other watchers, I'm sure. In all, pretty disappointing, considering there was an opportunity to have so much more going on. See more Aug 17, 2021 This movie sucked so bad I actually kept skipping forward to see if their was even one descent scene. Nope it all sucked. I was expecting a serial killer movie instead it was about some lame college kid being a wimp around his girlfriend and getting stupid threats on his cellphone! I could have made a better serial killer movie in my sleep. See more Jul 26, 2021 The best acting came from Crispin Glover, and he didn't have any lines. The main actor was terrible.
