Critics Consensus

While it offers an appropriately dark take on the fairy tale that inspired it, Snow White and the Huntsman is undone by uneven acting, problematic pacing, and a confused script.

What you take away from this dark film, filled with several twisted characters and twisty turns, is a great deal of nicely-crafted atmosphere, and a terrific performance from Charlize Theron as the evil stepmother.

Not a perfect movie by any stretch of the imagination, Snow White and the Huntsman can boast truly magnificent performances--minus Stewart, of course--an interesting take on a beloved tale, and gorgeous scenes. Too bad about some of that plot though.

This is a gorgeous production, but it’s also a romantically dormant one whose characters and their fixed motivations never make a connection.

In the end, Snow White and the Huntsman proves that style can never triumph over material.

For a movie that so desperately wishes to be Tolkienesque, it's a questionable choice to burden it with both the Snow White moniker and Kristen Stewart.

This movie, unfortunately, was made in peak Kristen Stewart hate. A great, dark, more eloquent and logical rendition of Snow White!

I wouldn’t recommend this movie to anyone. Disney should stop making live action movies from the original animated classics.

Gostei do jeito que contaram a história, uma releitura um pouco mais sombria. Só não consegui me decidir sobre qual das duas era mais bonita: a Kristen Stewart ou a Charlize Theron.

Re watching this film I appreciate how this film was made with real sets and real locations with good action and tells a different story to the world of Snow White.
