Maarten L @RT25905339 Apr 15, 2026 Loved the book. In the book Ben is a singer but it is not very convincing and a slightly irritating part. In the movie he sings for real and it is very far from convincing and an irriation. As a result we do not know if we watch a comedy or a drama. In my opinion the story is not for a comedy but that is a matter of taste. The main problem is the actors are simply of too an advanced age to play 16 or 17 year olds convincingly. This is not their fault, or bad acting, it cannot be done. I stopped watching after 15 minutes or so. See more Lindsay S @RT43891790 Oct 12, 2025 I love the movie! I watch the movie once a day! I love the music in it! See more vuesguk @RT12060141 Oct 14, 2023 Frankly, I did not like the movie, and the biggest reason was the weak and miserable acting of the cast, especially the main hero, Ben. His acting is bad in every sense of the word. Please don't make these actors act in any other work, because even if the story is good they will ruin it, and the story of the film is kind of fluffy, especially the singing parts, I feel embarrassed by them. It wasn't necessary at all. Honestly, I was waiting for the movie to end out of boredom. I wouldn't recommend this movie unless you want to waste your time with bad acting See more Dec 8, 2021 Read the book. Don't bother with this. See more Oct 12, 2020 I heard about this film a couple years ago and knew of it's troubled past in finding a distributor. I was blown away to see it was actually FINALLY available on Amazon Prime and Apple (today). Instantly purchased the film! There are few quality LBGTQ films out there and this one definitely took to long finding it's home. Made in 2016/2017 and Amazon and Apple both state it's a 2020 movie. I suspect given the pandemic streamers are hurting for new content and are buying up content where they can. The fact is, this is a GOOD, SOLID MOVIE! The story is unique, there are happy times, sad times, happy again and then heartfelt times. The acting is not the best, but it's 'Ok' and the two actors still deliver an enjoyable experience! To the studios behind the film, start making more, LBGTQ films. Thanks :-) See more richard r @RT64803020 Aug 25, 2020 Sorry for all the non romantics, this movie was special, touching even. Could there have been areas for improvement, sure. But it's a lovely cuddle movie. See more Read all reviews
