Two years ago, retired CIA agent Bryan Mills (Liam Neeson) used his "particular set of skills" to rescue his daughter, Kim (Maggie Grace), from kidnappers. Since then, Kim has been learning self-defense from her father, and Bryan has been on a personal mission to reunite with his ex-wife (Famke Janssen). In Istanbul, Bryan and his family cross paths with Murad (Rade Serbedzija), whose son died at Bryan's hand during Kim's rescue. Murad wants revenge, and he'll stop at nothing to get it.

This is a trademark Luc Besson movie. Car chases, fight scenes, multiple-gunfire, action, explosions and couched but not naked violence with dry, black humour to the end. As a result, I liked this one better than Taken. Liam Neeson stands tall, mean and dangerous- and that's just at the bar in the hotel! It's edge of the seat suspense and drama right the way through as Neeson growls and shoots his way past enemy Turks and Albanians to rescue his daughter and ex-wife who falls back in love with her hunk of an ex-husband. And no wonder. Great ending as well as Neeson and re-united family unwind in large cafe with coffee and ice-cream by the sea when young man walks in unannounced. Ex-wife says to Neeson...'don't shoot, it's only Jamie, your daughter's boyfriend.' Even Neeson laughs!

Good Liam Neeson movie. Had a good story for a second movie to the series. Will watch the third, may not be as good. Taken 2 was not a huge disappointment

If the original Taken is a poor man's James Bond then Taken 2 is a poor man's Taken. Totally contrived and unrealistic.

Taken 2 is an inferior and unnecessary sequel. It's superficially entertaining but suffers from clunky action and a lack of original ideas.

Synopsis
