Trapped inside their building, a voice over an intercom tells the frightened staffers that two workers must be killed within 30 minutes. Critics Consensus

The Belko Experiment offers a few moments of lurid fun for genre enthusiasts, but lacks enough subversive smarts to consistently engage once the carnage kicks in.

The disappointment of The Belko Experiment, then, is that it shifts so abruptly into horror-film terrain that it fails to examine the way this office has brainwashed these characters.

Going about its grisly business with undisguised relish, the film comes closer to the chilly spirit of science fiction writer J.G. Ballard than director Ben Wheatley did in his recent, overwrought adaptation of Ballard's novel High-Rise.

The Belko Experiment isn't much more than a good time at the theater, but it isn't really trying to be and doesn't really have to be.

Somewhere between Office Space and Battle Royale, the scenario of The Belko Experiment turns a corporate setting into a gladiatorial bloodbath.

While The Belko Experiment leaves little to desire in terms of its characters, the film is quite entertaining in regards to its premise and whos next dynamic that plays throughout.

It's Office Space meets Battle Royale. The result? Derivative garbage. It wasn't a good movie. The gore looks fake anyway. I don't want to say I wasted my time, but it was pretty terrible.

This movie was a huge miss. Cant believe James Gunn wrote this. The acting is not strong enough to support a script that makes no sense. Only watch if you’re into senseless gore. Somehow the ending is even dumber.

It was okay overall. nothing really stood out as amazing or particularly new. Everything unfolded pretty much as expected, aside from one death that felt out of place (still not sure if it was intentional or just poor writing). The final conclusion was anticlimactic but not terrible. I’ve definitely seen both worse and better.

I suppose the acting is ok, because I truly did dislike these characters by the end of the film. This movie continues the same architecture that most suspense/horror movies follows. For instance, good guy grabs gun and shoots bad guy in leg. Then stands there in victory and drops their only weapon, purposefully. Turns and walks away in slow motion as bad guy grab said weapon and takes out the good guy. Biggest pet peeve in just about any movie. This type of infuriating situation happens in almost every conflict scene in this film. It’s like “come on man”. Can’t the good guy have the slightest bit of self preservation in any modern movie? Overall fun to watch but still replaying tired overused good guy themes.

Had some promise, unlimately ends up falling off the deep end a bit. Technically good, not great with decent acting and dialogue, solid editing and pacing, pretty good SFX but VFX could use some work and some of the action was a little bad. The score was good though. Story was actually interesting at first with characters seemingly acting rationally and making good choices, until that lobby scene. I also thought the ending was a bit stupid and felt like it went for a dive off a cliff. The experience was fine overall. It's not bad but it's not great either, middle of the road experience wise but the story going off and the technical side being lackluster, yeah, can't go much higher than this
