KATELYN D @RT53396073 5 days ago Horrible absolutely horrible the story line is confusing and it’s painfully slow . Life time makes better movies See more Brian G @Goodwibr Oct 1, 2026 It seems like a horror film looking for something horrific to happen. Throughout the runtime, it was perpetually building towards something, but then nothing happens, over and over. And when the horrific events do finally start to happen, they were very underwhelming, despite being violent and shocking in concept. I don't mind a slow burn horror, but this was just too slow for my liking. Good performances, competently filmed in general, with lots of impending dread and intrigue, but without any satisfying payoff. I can say its one of the slowest burning of the horror genre but I did like the dark payoff of the film. I can absolutely see people being bored in the first half of this film. Most horror movies have a jumpscare or a creepy scene or a teaser to keep viewers engaged but this movie just lets you....simmer in the unease of its ambience. It can feel like it drags heavy in the beginning because of this. I like despair in a movie but I really think this movie could have done more with its scary scenes. No part of the movie scared me but certain parts did make me so very shifty in my seat. I just wish it made more use of the potential of its darkest scenes that if done better could have been extremely terrifying. Not a bad movie but not a great one either. If you like being uncomfortable and constantly guessing whats happening...this is for you! Scare Factor: 3/10. See more Torben E @Tales_from_Elsewhere May 29, 2026 I'm not really shocked by the 52% Popcornmeter score. This horror movie is certainly not for everyone. It's a very smart movie, very atmospheric, dark, sinister...and really slow. The last-mentioned probably is a turn-off for most people. That's a real pity because this movie is such a small gem. Amazing acting, great atmosphere and then there's the constant sense of danger. It's also a very unsettling film because in the end, it is only partially a horror film...actually it is a lot about loneliness. If you are going to watch it, keep in mind that this movie won't explain everything to the audience...like most silly blockbusters do. There's a huge and very smart twist coming...but it takes a good amount of focus from the audience to understand it. See more joy D @joy.do May 4, 2026 Certainly well crafted and the slow burn does have its payoff. However for me it was too much of a slow burn without being engaging throughout 3/4 of the movie. I give it a positive recognizing the quality but personally did not enjoy watching most of it and only got invested towards the end See more Read all reviews
