In 1970, paranormal investigators and demonologists Lorraine (Vera Farmiga) and Ed (Patrick Wilson) Warren are summoned to the home of Carolyn (Lili Taylor) and Roger (Ron Livingston) Perron. The Perrons and their five daughters have recently moved into a secluded farmhouse, where a supernatural presence has made itself known. Though the manifestations are relatively benign at first, events soon escalate in horrifying fashion, especially after the Warrens discover the house's macabre history.

I really enjoyed this movie. The story was simple to follow and the scary scenes were done very well. It did not depend on too many jump scares and kept me interested from start to finish. The acting was good, especially from the family and the investigators. It is one of those horror movies that stays in your mind even after it ends.

The Conjuring doesn't ask for your attention—it grabs you by the throat and refuses to let go. This is horror done right: no endless CGI nonsense, no parade of cheap jump scares pretending to be fear. Just pure, nerve-shredding terror built with skill, patience, and absolute confidence. James Wan turns every hallway, every shadow, every innocent sound into a potential nightmare. The tension keeps rising until you're practically begging for a break. The cast is excellent, the atmosphere is suffocating, and the scares hit like a truck. What makes it even worse—in the best possible way—is that it's inspired by a real case investigated by Ed Warren and Lorraine Warren. Whether you believe in the supernatural or not, that extra layer makes the whole experience even more unsettling. This isn't just one of the best horror films of the last decade. It belongs in the same conversation as The Exorcist. Easily the scariest movie I've seen in years. No contest.
