It’s a quiet, dialogue-driven movie, but it feels incredibly real and engaging from start to finish. Jason Segel delivers an amazing performance as David Foster Wallace, capturing both his brilliance and vulnerability, while Jesse Eisenberg provides a strong contrast that makes their conversations even more compelling. What I love most is how the film focuses on ideas, connection, and the small, human moments rather than big plot points. It’s thoughtful, introspective, and sticks with you after it ends. The script was pretty good and it’s definitely an actor’s movie. The performances were solid, not stellar, but good, and you do feel like you get to know the characters. There’s a good sense of who they are, and some of the dialogue brings up interesting ideas that make you think. The characters have complexity and messiness, which was one of the cooler parts of the writing. The shoe thing though (iykyk)... far too enigmatic for my taste. And ultimately, I think kind of distracting to try and make sense of. See more Mason M @RT73597940 05/07/2025 I'm not all too familiar with the works of David Foster Wallace, but he's from my hometown, so I felt that I should give this a watch to get to know him better. And I was very pleased with this film, I really enjoyed it. Jesse Eisenberg does a great job as always in the lead role, and Segal gives a surprisingly good performance as Wallace. Nothing much really happens in this film, but the dialogues and conversations between the two were fascinating. And I was very pleased by this film's direction, since I did not like James Ponsoldt's other effort that I've seen, The Spectacular Now. That film felt very lifeless to me, but this felt immensely real, human, and emotional. It's pretty well shot too, and the music is great. But the real highlight of the film is the complexities of the two leads, both characters were incredibly interesting and enjoyable to watch, and their dynamic throughout was amazing. I don't know much about Wallace, but The End of the Tour was an amazing and incredibly human film. See more Read all reviews
